In Wiz-Mania (my school’s annual musical), I completely forgot a number of things, the first of which I should’ve posted about.

1.) MY own birthday!  I’m pretty good about posting for everyone’s birthday, but I forgot MINE!  Last Friday was my 29th birthday, and I celebrated by going to see the new Alice in Wonderland and then having dinner with friends.

2.) Picture of the Week – I’ll put two up tomorrow!

For the second time in a year, school has been cancelled today, which means no work for me, and no school for Jack.  Willa told me last night that he declared he is coming to my house – he thinks of this as his new snow day ritual.  So I’m looking forward to having lunch and hot cocoa with Jack and Willa later, probably after we have shoveled our respective front walks.  The snow is still coming down, however, so I’m trying to delay a bit so the job doesn’t need to be done twice!

I realize that I should also probably address the lack of posts except for the recent one for Katherine’s birthday.  Life has taken a busy turn around here, with a lot of Sundays busy apartment hunting or spending time at shows or with friends.  It has left little time to post a new picture of the week, and the weekdays have proved to be even busier than the weekends.  I hope to resume pictures of the week as soon as possible, but it may have to wait until after the school play.  Costuming is in full swing, and the show is in just five weeks!  Rest assured that I will post enough photos of the week to make up for the missing weeks!

This week I’ll be taking a brief posting hiatus due to an extremely busy schedule that leaves little time for the things I have to do, let alone the extras like keep track of the family website!  Picture of the week will be taking a short break this week, and any birthday news (though thankfully there isn’t any during this brief spell) will be put on hold until Sunday afternoon, when you can stay tuned for the new picture of the week!

Hello all!  I realize that I am way behind in posting the picture of the week and I wish I could say it was here today, but I’m running around since I returned from yet another fabulous weekend at the FIRM studios in Lexington, South Carolina!  I had an absolutely amazing time with my fellow FIRM Believers and am eager to post pictures of both that trip and Washington D.C.  Please bear with me, however, over the next couple of days.  My annual Halloween party is this Friday and much of this week is being spent on preparation for that (including the completion of my Halloween costume, which I will unveil at some point – perhaps as this Sunday’s pic of the week)!

Just a short note to let you all know that picture of the week is moving to Sundays, because 1.) that’s generally when I get around to it anyway and 2.) that’s the true beginning of the week.  Everything else – birthday notices, events, etc. – will continue to be reported as they happen.

Stay tuned.  This is an exciting summer filled with lots of fun: a trip to Atlantic City for me and Lindsay, a trip to Disney World for me, Lindsay, Kara and Emily (A Great Cousin Adventure), a trip to the Maine lobster festival and there just MAY be something big in the works for August.  Won’t say too much now, as it’s currently just an idea, but if it ends up happening it will be exciting!

The title says it all, folks!  The new photo gallery is up and running.  The format may look familiar to you, as it is the same format that we used when we were hymelick.com, before moving to the blogs and all over the place.  I’m happy to say that we’re settled here for quite a while, so it should be fun to keep things going!

Welcome to the new and improved family website, Upon Stratford.  Because the family history, on both sides, is so rooted on Stratford Road, the name felt fitting (and was made even better by a play on words of Shakespeare’s hometown, Stratford-upon-Avon).  The site will continue to run as normal, with the old photo gallery still accessible with all the pictures available until the new gallery is up and running!

Adventures with Thomas and Robert!

Thomas and Robert are spending a few days with me this week so we’re taking advantage and having fun at some sites around the city. Our activities include: Forbidden Pleasures day at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the Museum of Natural History and the NY Aquarium!

Also, Tuesday is Jack’s birthday (and birthday party)!
