Why We’re Awesome, Part Two: The Russbertardo/Green Cousins

Family Stories, Miscellaneous

I promised a second “Why We’re Awesome” post featuring the other side of the family and the fabulous cousins there.  As Lindsay and I were already mentioned, you can check the last “Why We’re Awesome” post.

Joe has his Bachelor’s degree from the Eastman School of Music and is currently preparing to apply to graduate schools.  He is an accomplished pianist who is currently playing accompaniment in China.

Katherine just finished high school this past June and is now attending Mannes.  This year she won a competition and debuted at Carnegie Hall, playing a violin solo.

Thomas turned fourteen this year and started high school.

Robert turned twelve this year and is now in seventh grade.

Daniel and Nicholas turned nine this year and are in the fourth grade.

Visiting Virginia

Miscellaneous, Travel

This past weekend, Lindsay, Dad, and I headed down to visit Grandma and Popops in Virginia.  It was a very relaxing, quiet weekend, with knitting, reading and – of course! – lots of picture taking.

We’ll see Grandma & Popops again soon when they come down to visit Willa and Paul and we have a family dinner at Kevin and Lori’s house.

Weekend Upstate

Miscellaneous, New Lebanon

Last week, Lindsay and I headed to New Lebanon to visit Grandma and Ted at the inn.  We had a relaxing weekend filled with cleaning out the barn/garage, shopping, eating and visiting museums.  We also scoured the attic to see what we could find (and plan to go back to clean in the near future) and, of course, there was a lot of picture-taking!

SNOW DAY!

Events, Miscellaneous

dsc_0036

Today we all woke up to a special treat!  School was cancelled and it was declared a SNOW DAY!  For most people this is not so strange, but for New York City, it’s a real treat.  Here are some shots from the day.  I spent most of the morning shoveling the front walk and driveway and then Jack came to help out – and play in the snow!

A Weekend Full of Cousins

Events, Miscellaneous

Despite coming home to some bad news (see post below), this past weekend was enjoyable.  Lindsay and I headed to Carol’s house to visit Carol, James and the boys for the night and then journeyed the rest of the way to Binghamton to see Kara in her acapella show the next day.  The boys were cute, as always, and Kara’s show was very good – the group even recently recorded a C.D!

It was nice to meet up with Emily, Kevin, Lori and Melissa, as we haven’t seen them in a while, and it’s always fun to visit Kara at school!  Unfortunately, the camera somehow managed to stay in my bag the whole time so there are no pictures to share!

Yearbook Yourself

Humor, Just for Fun, Miscellaneous

Today, Kate led me to yearbookyourself.com, and Lindsay and I have been having fun with it all afternoon!  I have created tons of old yearbook pictures of family members.  Here are just a few of the highlights (for those family members who want to see them all, I’m posting them on my facebook):

Bonus points if you can guess who’s who!
